What does this quote by James Anthony Froude mean?

Why is the moral approach superior to the intellectual approach? What do each try accomplish? Morality is about conduct and it applies to the person asking the question. Intellectualism is about the world and is aloof, detached. Moral-ism puts our self in the equation and therefore calls upon the unconscious mind or the intuition. A moral view calls for soul searching. Moral inquiry won't discover the nature of an atom, but for questions of conduct, is it superior?
