I need help with Nerf guns and ammo?

I want to get a few nerf guns to play with my little bro. I dont need any of those awesome $20 ones so ill just stick with the mavericks and stuff. i wanted to know if i should get two mavericks becuz i already have a nerf pistol (the one that comes with a vest). should i get that or something else? (my max is 2 guns for now) Also what kind of darts should i get (what is best for each gun u recommend) and how many do i need? (plz dont just say a number becuz its a lot) i also wont buy that one huge ammo box for like 30 bucks becuz i dont need that many just enough to have fun with and still have some if i lose some. also anyways to make sure u dont lose your darts?
