Are Alligator Snapping Turtles Illegal To keep In Newyork?

Illegal to keep or have one sent to me or catching one what ever you wana call it. I Recently Cought my Common snapper in a camping trip i had when i was 8 years old (5 Years ago) Now He's 14 inches and i Wana get a Baby alligator snapping turtle so i can raise it. Before you say it was wrong for me to catch my common snapper i feed him guppies and minnows i found in the same lake were he used to live and he ate them now he's doing well with a family that loves him.
