How can a guy act as hard to get?

i don't know what people keep telling me with girls they want something they can't have and that i need to be harder like i got evrything goin but that. should i raise my standards? what does that mean? how does ia guy act hard? cause i don't get if i act hard that's almost like to me like i don't try to go up and go for the girls i lke just becaus i think i'm to good for them, girls do that because guys go to them so guy's got to go throught the fire to get to them. but you'd have to be to be in highhschool or college or some close quarters where people talk and network to know each otrher where other girls build you up more as that guy and then your hard because you are more selective becasue you have more of a selection. but since i'm in jc and people don't network and or if i meet a girl out of school how do you be "hard to get"?
